The statistics don’t lie.

Women are more likely to initiate divorce than men. It’s a fact that many don’t talk about openly, but it’s happening all the time.

In fact, research shows that nearly 70% of divorces are initiated by women. That number gets even higher if the woman is college-educated.

But why is this happening?

Why are women more likely to walk away from their marriages compared to men?

I’ve watched men around me wonder the same thing.

Men often stay in unhappy marriages, even when they’re miserable. So what’s causing this difference?

Let’s break it down from a man’s point of view. You might find that the reasons women initiate divorce aren’t what you expect.

1. Emotional Disconnect

One of the most common reasons women leave is because they feel emotionally disconnected. They aren’t being heard or understood.

A man might think everything is fine because the bills are paid, the house is in order, and there’s no major conflict. But for her, something important is missing.
