What Is Kittenfishing?

Kittenfishing is a softer version of Catfishing.

Imagine someone editing their profile to make themselves look better. They use old photos, exaggerate their job title, or say they’re into hiking when they’ve never touched a trail.

It’s like stretching the truth, but it’s still misleading. For example:

Reminisces Kathy — “I once matched with a guy who said he was 6’2”. When we met, he was barely 5’8”. Did it ruin the date? Kinda.”

Kittenfishing plays on small lies that add up. Kind of embellishing the truth. It’s common, but that doesn’t make it right.

What Is Catfishing?

Catfishing is a much bigger deal. It’s when someone creates a completely fake identity. New name, fake photos, made-up stories — the works.
