Left in Silence: How Ghosting Changed My View on Dating
Ghosting isn’t just an awkward end to a potential relationship; it leaves a mark.
The silence can be more deafening than any harsh words. For me, ghosting changed how I see dating.
It forced me to question how people handle emotions and connection. As painful as it was, the experience shaped my expectations and how I approach relationships today.
The First Time I Was Ghosted
I remember the first time I got ghosted.
Things seemed to be going well. We’d met online, exchanged messages for weeks, and had a few good dates. Everything felt easy, like there was a real connection.
Then one day, the texts stopped.
At first, I thought maybe something came up. But as the hours turned into days, I realized I had been ghosted. No explanation, no closure. Just silence.
I kept checking my phone, hoping for a response that never came.
It felt like I had done something wrong, but I couldn’t figure out what.
The uncertainty made it worse. I went over every interaction in my mind, trying to see if I missed something.
But there was nothing, just an empty space where communication used to be.
