When I first heard the term demiromantic, I thought, “What does that even mean?” If you’re reading this, maybe you’re asking the same question. Let me share my story. Maybe you’ll see yourself in it, or maybe you’ll walk away with a better understanding of how others experience love.

Let’s start simple. Demiromantic means you don’t feel romantic attraction to someone unless you’ve built a deep emotional bond with them.

This isn’t about physical attraction or friendship — it’s about that spark people call romance.

For demiromantics, the spark doesn’t light up right away.

“Why Don’t You Date More?”

People asked me this all the time in my 20s.

I’d sit there, awkwardly laughing, trying to explain.

But how do you tell someone, I just don’t feel it?
